The Vengeance Trinity

This is a photobook of The Vengeance Trilogy: a series of three films, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003), and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005), directed by South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook. The films are not narratively connected and were dubbed a trilogy by international critics because of their thematic links.

"I grew up in a very Catholic family. Up until puberty, I would go to a Catholic church every week. That is where I started to take an interest in religion, although currently I have no faith. But I had been made aware of a sense of guilt that is unique to Catholics." – Park Chan-wook, New York Times Interview

From Oldboy (2003) - contains violent scenes

The characters fall into vengeance after tragic incidents, which becomes main driving force of their life in the movies. To build correlation between the scenes and Park Chan-wook's Catholic elements, the left page indicates a timeline of the scene, and the right page has a verse from bible that is related to vengence and forgiveness.
